Diverse Use Cases for Events

The iMIS EMS Events module is a powerful tool for associations, offering diverse use cases that simplify management, elevate member experiences, create lasting impact and offer revenue opportunities. Before I expound on the diverse use cases for the iMIS EMS Events module, I want to define its utility.  At its most basic, the events module is a tool to collect and organize contacts who have a shared interest or goal within a specific time frame.  With this definition in mind, we can expand the possibilities for the events module beyond the typical Annual Conference.

1. Directories

Give talented members a platform to advertise their work or services to other members or the public by setting up a yearly event and turn the registration into a directory.  Charge a fee during registration and use the registrant list as a security group to control who can make directory entries.  Turn the directory entries into an IQA and display them on your member site.  You can refresh the directory every year by duplicating the event and requiring repeat registration.

2. Volunteer Registration

Organize volunteer registrations and schedules with iMIS Events.  iMIS allows you to create specific event registration categories for volunteers. You can set up different registration types or options specifically for volunteers, which allows them to sign up directly through your event registration page. You can also create custom fields to capture volunteer preferences, skills, and availability during the registration process.

3. Member Onboarding and Orientation

New member orientation and onboarding events are essential for welcoming new members and helping them become active participants in the association. iMIS Events supports these efforts by automating event communications and managing RSVPs through registration.  By creating a seamless onboarding experience, associations can help new members feel connected from day one.
